Our Learning Journey this week...This week we have continued our new topic ‘On the beach’; we have been the story ‘Come Away from the water, Shirley!’ and have talked about the vocabulary in the book and aspects of water safety – and linking it to our local canal. The book touches on pirates and the children have enjoyed exploring message in a bottle and treasure map. In Maths, we have been continuing to explore odd and even numbers and number bonds to 10. We have used the part/part whole model. What another busy week - thank you so much for your continuing support.

The Reception year is one of the most important in your child’s educational journey. It is paramount to lay the foundations to become a life-long learner. The skills taught in Reception are comparable to the foundations for a house – we need to make them nice and strong!
We have an exciting and engaging curriculum that encourages children to become resourceful, inquisitive, communicative learners who will always ‘give it a go’ and challenge themselves to be successful.
One of our key aims is to make the transition into school life as smooth as possible for all children and we enjoy working closely with parents and feeder Nursery settings to ensure we develop each child’s love of learning.
