COVID-19
There is no longer a requirement for schools to explicitly consider COVID-19 in their statutory health and safety risk assessment (or stand alone document). For the education and childcare sector, the management of COVID-19 is now in line with how other respiratory viruses such as colds and flu are managed. The guidance for respiratory infections including COVID-19 and flu can now be found by clicking here with the focus on ensuring that good baseline infection prevention and control measures are in place (see Chapter 2 of this guidance). These include good respiratory and hand hygiene, environmental cleaning, ventilation and vaccination of those eligible.
