Late/Absence Procedures
Children arriving at school after 9:00am will be marked late in the register. It is essential that children arrive on time for school or they will miss vital start of the day learning and routines.
Please inform the school if your child is away by telephoning the office before 9:00am - 01932 343260 (Option 1). Please note if your child has been physically sick or suffered from diarrhoea, then there is a 48 hour exclusion policy from the last episode they experienced in line with health guidance.
The National Target for attendance is 96%. We are very proud of our current attendance figures and strive to be above this target throughout the academic year.
Regular and punctual attendance is important because it:
- Supports learning
- Helps children keep up with their work
- Helps children achieve better results
- Helps children develop friendships and social skills
In August 2024, new guidance became statutory across the country to help schools remove barriers to attendance. Please refer to our Attendance Policy for detailed information on changes and new guidelines.
