PUPIL PREMIUM
The Pupil Premium Grant is allocated to children from low-income families who are currently known to be eligible for Free School Meals (FSM), or who have been entitled to FSM at some point in the last 6 years (known as the Ever 6 FSM measure).
The Pupil Premium Grant is also allocated to pupils who have been in care or ‘looked after’, or who are adopted.
Children who have parents who are serving or have served in the armed forces also receive some extra funding, which is paid to schools with the Pupil Premium.

We recognise that not all children from low-income families will be socially disadvantaged and that not all pupils who are socially disadvantaged will be eligible for Pupil Premium. However, at West Byfleet Infant School we aim to eliminate all barriers to learning to so that every child is able to achieve their potential. We do this by ensuring that:
- teaching and learning opportunities meet the needs of ALL our pupils;
- appropriate provision is in place for those who require additional support.
Each year we plan what we hope to achieve for our children, and how we aim to achieve it. This is published below. At the end of the year we review the impact of the provision that we have put in place. We also consider children’s progress and well-being throughout the year to enable us to adapt our plans and ensure the best outcomes for our children.
This year we have 14 pupils known to be eligible for FSM or who have been eligible for FSM at some point in the last 6 years.
