September - The children were treated to a School Council assembly lead by Mrs Dixon. During this assembly the children discussed the mean of democracy and the importance of being able to 'have a say'. The assembly ended with lots of excited children wanting to put themselves forward to be a School Council member. The votes will be taking place at the end of the month,

I am so impressed with the enthusiasm from the Year 1 and Year 2 children. I cannot wait to meet my new members!

It is important to vote because we can help decide what to do.

October - The School Council members have met to discuss the Harvest festival. We spoke about why we should collect food and that we should donate it to the Woking Food Bank and a local church in need. The members helped Mrs Clarke and Mrs Dixon display all the amazing donations we received from our school community. Well done School Council, you were a wonderful help!

Wow, thank you WBIS community for your very generous donations! It is wonderful to help those less fortunate within our community!

It is good to help others, some families are hungry!

November - We celebrated Anti-Bullying Week during the 11th-15th November. This year the theme was, Choose Respect and our School Council launched a poster competition with the winner being able to have their poster turned into a banner and displayed outside our school. Well done, Alice in Ladybirds for winning the competition.

On the 12th of November we participated in Odd Sock Day, celebrating what makes someone unique!

It was wonderful to see how many children entered the poster competition and the excitement they had being able to encourage kindness!

We got so many good posters! How do we choose....

January - Our very responsible School Council members carried out a site walk of the school's indoor and outdoor areas. They put together a list of ideas, interviewed staff on what they needed and identified items that require fixing or replacing! We them met with Mrs Clarke to present our ideas!

The children were incredibly responsible with this task and had so many great ideas!

I think we need some photographs on the walls!
