    What is a Social Story?
A social story is a short, simple story that helps children understand what will happen in a particular situation and how they can feel confident and prepared. Social stories use clear language and pictures to explain routines, expectations, or new experiences, such as starting school, taking turns, or visiting a new place. They are especially helpful for young children who may need extra support with understanding social situations, managing emotions, or coping with change. At our school, social stories are used in a positive and supportive way to help all children feel safe, included, and ready to learn.

Please see attached examples of social stories we have used in school.
