    Our Learning Journey this week....

What a wonderful week we have had in Reception! Despite the very warm weather, the children have remained enthusiastic, resilient and full of smiles.

We have enjoyed a range of fun activities to help us stay cool, including draw-alongs and exciting water parties. The children have loved spending time with their friends and making the most of these special summer experiences.

Alongside all the fun, we have continued to work hard with our learning. The children have kept up their writing and maths activities and have shown fantastic focus and determination right to the end of the year.

We are also pleased to share that all children have now completed their phonics and reading assessments. These assessments will help ensure that children are placed in the most appropriate phonics groups when they move into Year 1, enabling them to continue making excellent progress with their reading.

To support the transition to their new classes, reading books will now remain in school so that they can be passed on to the children's Year 1 teachers. However, children are very welcome to continue borrowing books from our Lending Library right up until the summer holidays.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We are incredibly proud of everything the children have achieved this year and look forward to enjoying our final few weeks together.

    ☠️ Pirate Day – Monday 13th July

To finish our topic on The Beach, we will be holding our annual Pirate Day on Monday 13th July.

Children are invited to come dressed as a pirate or in pirate-themed clothing, such as:

    • A pirate costume
    • A striped T-shirt
    • Pirate accessories

Children may also bring a special snack to enjoy during the day. Please remember that we are a nut-free school, so snacks must not contain nuts.

If you have any questions or concerns about either event, please speak to your child's teacher.
