Our Learning Journey this week....
This week in Phonics, the children have continued to revisit their Phase 3 sounds and tricky words. They have been challenging themselves to apply their phonic knowledge independently in their own sentence writing, which has been wonderful to see.
In Literacy, the children have thoroughly enjoyed sharing the story The Extraordinary Gardener. We have explored the themes of the book through expressive artwork, experimenting with charcoals and pastels to create some beautiful pieces.
In Maths, we have been learning about odd and even numbers. The children are growing confident in recognising that even numbers can be paired equally into twos, while odd numbers always have one left over.
Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for our ‘Come and See’ workshop with your child this week. The children loved sharing The Extraordinary Gardener with you as part of our Drawing Club session. We hope you found the information helpful in understanding how to support your child’s next steps in writing.
We have noticed a few children making some wobbly choices when using the bathroom independently. Please could you remind your child about the importance of making sensible choices and using the toilets responsibly while in school.
A gentle reminder that on PE days (Wednesdays), if your child has pierced ears, earrings should be removed at home before school or covered with plasters for safety. Thank you for your support.
