Year 1 – Half Term Round-Up
We’ve had a fantastic first half term in Year 1! The children have settled in beautifully and are really growing in confidence and independence as they explore the different challenges we’ve set for them.
They’ve been so enthusiastic about their learning, proudly sharing their work and aiming to be on the Learning Zoo or Proud Cloud — and we couldn’t be prouder of them!
This week, we’ve focused on number formation, laying the groundwork for addition and subtraction which we’ll begin after the break. In English, the children have been using their skills to write poems and other creative pieces, showing wonderful imagination and effort.
After half term, we’ll be diving into our next text: Old Bear — a lovely story that we’re excited to explore together.
In our Foundation subjects, the children have been brilliant Slinky Linky Snakes, making connections between their prior knowledge and new learning. It’s been amazing to see their thinking develop across subjects.
Great job, Year 1! We’re so proud of everything you’ve achieved so far — enjoy a well-earned rest over half term!
