Weekly News

12th June
Week 2 over and out!

We have had a lovely week in school, albeit a little wet! The children have continued to show great enthusiasm and positivity in their learning.

In English, we have finished our Mr Majeika narratives. The children have been wonderfully exploratory with their language, producing imaginative and engaging stories that have been a real pleasure to read.

In Maths, we have continued to consolidate our understanding of the four operations, exploring a range of methods to solve different calculations. It has been great to see the children growing in confidence and resilience as they tackle new challenges.

Bikeability also got underway this week, with Dragonflies class first up—we hope the children thoroughly enjoyed this experience!

The children also took part in an exciting live lesson all about climate control, which was great fun. They learned lots of new ideas—see if your child can tell you all about it at home!

Well done to everyone for another fantastic week!

PE – Our PE days are still Monday and Friday.

Monday: outdoor Invasion Games
Friday: Gymnastic in the hall where the children will remove socks and shoes so please dress appropriately.

Home Learning

Please can you encourage your child to hand their home learning in when they have completed it. In Year 2 we do not go through book bags and collect their belongings, we are teaching the children independence and they need to remember.

Chatterbox and Class Bears

Please can we also ask that chatterbox and class bears are returned by Thursday to share with the class.

Reading Books and Reading Records

Please can you ensure your child has their yellow reading record and school reading book on a Friday for book change.

As always, our door is open. Please come and see us if you would like to discuss anything further.
Alternatively, we have a year group email year2@wbis.org.uk
Have a lovely weekend! 😊
