Week 6 Round-Up

What a fantastic Week 6 we've had in Year 2! In English, we began exploring our exciting new text, The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig, a clever twist on the traditional fairy tale. The children thoroughly immersed themselves in the story and generated a range of ambitious adjectives and noun phrases to describe the characters. We will use these brilliant ideas next week as we work towards writing detailed character descriptions.

In Maths, we have been developing our understanding of adding 10 using fact families and learning how to use a 100 square to 'jump down' and add ten efficiently. The children have shown growing confidence in spotting patterns and applying their knowledge to different calculations.

This week also marked National Feel Good Week. The children thoroughly enjoyed watching the staff video and took part in activities celebrating the things that make them feel good. We explored the importance of looking after our mental health and wellbeing, reminding ourselves of simple ways to stay happy, healthy and connected to others. It has been a wonderful week of learning, reflection and fun!
