At West Byfleet Infant School, we are very proud of our strong links with the military and of welcoming children from a wide range of service family backgrounds in our local community. We understand that moving schools can sometimes be challenging, especially for military families, and we work closely with parents to make transitions into and out of school as smooth and stress-free as possible. Our aim is for every child to feel welcomed, settled and secure from the very start, so they can enjoy school, make friends and get the most out of their learning with us.

The Service Pupil Premium (SPP) is extra funding that the school receives to support children from military families. This funding helps us provide additional care and support during times that may be challenging for children, such as when families move location or when a parent is deployed. The funding is used by the school to plan and deliver support over time to meet children’s needs and help them feel happy, confident and included at school. While the funding cannot be accessed directly by parents, it is carefully used to benefit eligible children and support their wellbeing and learning.
